Tooth coloured fillings are white filling which are natural looking and used instead of traditional amalgam (silver) filing material.
Benefits:

  • Functional and natural looking.
  • Can replace silver fillings when it is time to do so.
  • New materials are now available which have properties similar to those of amalgam, so the life expectancy of a white filling depends on where it is in your mouth and how heavy the bite is.

The Treatment Plan:
You will have at least one appointment.

  1. Some or all of the old filling will be removed by your dentist.
  2. The tooth will be washed and dried and the tooth filling material will be put into the tooth and shaped.
  3. The white filling material will then be hardened by pointing a blue light at it.
  4. Finally the filling will be trimmed and polished.
